Tahitian Vanilla

Making your own Tahitian Vanilla is easier than you think. It takes only two ingredients and a bit of patience.

Ingredients

  • 1 750 ml Vodka Tito’s recommended
  • 6 Tahitian Vanilla Beans

Instructions

  • Split each vanilla bean lengthwise to expose the seeds inside.
  • Add the split beans to a 750 ml bottle of Vodka.
  • Cap the bottle, give it a good shake and place it in a cool, dark place.
  • Shake the bottle twice a week for the next 8 weeks.
  • After 8 weeks the vanilla will be a rich dark brown.
    At this point there will be seeds at the bottom of the bottle, which can easily be removed by straining through a sieve.
  • Pour into sterilized small bottles, add a bow and you have a perfect gift for your favorite foodie friends.
